International Experience Canada
The International Experience Canada (IEC) work permit program brings young people from all over the world to Canada to work and travel. Young foreign nationals from 32 countries can work and travel in Canada through the International Experience Canada program for a set period of time. Program requirements vary by country of origin, but typically include all young people aged 18 to 35.
The program includes young professionals, co-ops students and working holiday programs. A foreign national who is approved for one of the IEC programs will be able to apply for a Canadian work permit without the need for an LMIA. The IEC program authorizes a temporary stay in Canada with approval of work permits for up to a year. Acceptance levels under this program are relatively high, as there are less stringent requirements than most other Canadian immigration programs.
The purpose of International Experience Canada is to promote economic, social, and cultural ties between Canada and participating countries. Participants can obtain a Canadian work permit by selecting from the following options.
