CareGiver Program
Canada, as a popular immigration destination, offers several permanent residence programs that attract immigrants from around the world. There is a long history of caregivers being accepted into Canada as part of its economy and culture. Canada acknowledges the vital work done by caregivers - those who provide support to children, senior citizens, and others in need of care.
One of the reasons that Canada's immigration system is so successful is that it is constantly seeking to modernize its policies and programs. For this reason, Canada manages specific programs that assist caregivers in finding work and obtaining permanent positions. Unlike any other Canadian Immigration Program, the Caregiver Program allows foreign nationals to come as workers who will have a distinct path towards permanent residence. Recently, the Canada has reformed its pathways for caregivers seeking permanent residence, The government offers two immigration programs specifically designed for caregivers. Both of these programs were launched in June 2019 following the termination of the Interim Pathway for Caregivers.
Home Child Care Program

The Home Child Care Provider Pilot is designed to provide temporary work permits to workers with experience as Home Child Care Providers. This program is for professionals who have experience providing patient care to seniors, those with disabilities, and those recovering from illness or undergoing medical treatment. A caregiver can work for a home health agency, a private household or be self-employed. A housekeeper needs to perform all aspects of housekeeping. The program opened to applications on June 18th, 2019, and a maximum of 2,750 applicants and their immediate families will be accepted each year.
